I see these posts all the time, "Find the sex offenders in your area"
Here is a bit of an eye opener for all you people that are losing there shit and making a huge deal out of a freaking website that does not have the correct numbers of sex offenders in the area. Because the reality of sex offenders are that we live among them with out know for years and only a few get caught. They can be teachers, priests, coaches, nanny's, lawyers, therapist, your aunt or uncle, mother or father, a grandparent, the reality of it is ANYONE can be a sex offender and not one of know it. Did you know that 1 in 8 people you know have either been a survivor of a sexually based crime, or will be. 1 in 4 children have been or will be a survivor of a sexually based crime. The sad truth about this is most of these cases the person was hurt by someone that they knew and trusted. Not some stranger living in a half way house just out of jail for a crime. Not by some stranger in a park. But by am family member or by a family friend.
So having a freak out and a metal break down over a dame website is just a waist of your time. How about we concentrate on how to educate our children and youth on appropriate relationships with other people, the difference between good touch and bad touch, how to listen to our hearts and guts when something does not feel right. Let them know that no matter what happens there is always someone out there that can help them. We need to teach and help our kids grow into amazing little beings, and obsessing about a webpage or what stranger is living in your area, but not concentrate on who is around your children.
